Vision
To create a forum for Latino administrators and educational leaders that promotes equity in leadership positions throughout the state of Oregon.

Mission
The mission of the Oregon Association of Latino Administrators (OALA) is to promote Latino educators, both current and aspiring into positions of leadership through mentorship, networking, and professional development. OALA will affect the educational interests of all students in Oregon, particularly those of Latino heritage in order to ensure their educational success.

The ALAS Scholarship, sponsored by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, recognizes Latino administrators and principals for their leadership by providing assistance toward an advanced degree in education. The winner will receive a one-time $10,000 scholarship, made payable to an institution of higher learning..

Keynote Speaker Bio
Dr. Robyn Duran is the Chief Equity and Communications Officer for the Adams 14 School District in Commerce City, Colorado. Prior to serving in Adams 14, Dr. Duran served as high school and middle school teacher and building administrator in Denver Public Schools, and most recently as a school administrator and the Executive Director of Excellence and Equity for the Cherry Creek School District in Aurora, Colorado.

Dr. Duran is a transformational and transparent leader known for embodying a resolute and unapologetic commitment to anti-racist educational practices and policies. She both models and promotes educational practices aimed at eradicating racial predictability in student performance through leadership development, program design, and community outreach. Dr. Duran is skilled at building effective teams of educators with racialized intentionality, and charged with developing and implementing highly yield culturally-responsive programming in order to meet the complex needs of all students.

Dr. Duran presents at the local and national level at various venues, specifically around Opportunity to Learn, Critical Race Theory, and Inclusive Excellence. Most recently, Dr. Duran has specifically facilitated presentations around applied critical leadership for administrators of color at the Harvard School of Education and the Summit for Courageous Conversations About Race.

Dr. Duran's community service outreach includes service on two different Boards: currently she serves on Latin American Educational Foundation's Board; and, she is the co-chair for the Colorado Association for Latino Administrators and Superintendents.
